Walk around the class. You canโt see everything if you stay in one spot and this also goes for your private client. Walk around the front, back, and sides so you can see what their body is doing and the imbalances they may have.

You donโt need to demonstrate everything. Even if you have complete beginners you shouldnโt need to demonstrate everything. Recording your own practice is a great way to check your own technique. Sometimes we think weโre doing something correct and itโs not until we watch the video that we see some areas that need improvement. Remember if you demonstrate your clients will more likely do exactly what you DO, even if youโre cueing something else. So you want to make sure your technique is spot on โ or donโt demonstrate (refer back to no. 5).

Especially as preparation for your assessment. This is a great tool to hear what youโre cueing sounds like. Are your instructions clear and direct? Or is there too much woffle and fluff? You donโt need to talk to the whole class. Silence is okay.

teacher goes through phases so if you find youโre in a slump take a break. Go on a

Nothing is more irritating than hearing โlovelyโ or โgood jobโ every two minutes and people will not actually hear you giving a compliment when you do genuinely mean it. Also, if you use compliments as fillers (words to fill silent gaps) then someone who may be just about breaking their neck thinks theyโre doing a great job when in fact theyโre not. Best advice – offer genuine compliments. Your clients will appreciate it much more!
