How mum Michelle did her course with 3 young kids

One of the biggest concerns we get asked about is “I have young children, how will I find the time or how can I do my Pilates/Yoga Teacher Training course?” 🧐

We often have mums doing teacher training with us and they worry about whether or not they’ll have enough time

BUT

The reality is not only will they have time to do the training, but getting certified so that they can teach, means they’ll have more control over their time because they’ll be running their own business.

Running your own business means you get to decide when you want to work and if you want to have all the school holidays off with your family then YOU can do that!

After all it’s your business 🕺

Michelle recently joined us on a course and Michelle has 3 young children.   Yet Michelle chose to do her Pilates teacher training in person.

AFter the first weekend Michelle felt really overwhelmed and was worried she wouldn’t be able to do everything that needed to be done, as well as get that confidence to teach.

She came to the studio on the last day and we had a chat and we broke down all her tasks step by step and she felt much better with an action plan to follow.

Sometimes when you look at something like your Pilates or Yoga teacher training it can be very overwhelming when you look at everything that needs to be done.

BUT when you break it down into Step 1, do this, Step 2 do that etc etc, and make it into bite size chunks, then actually it’s not so difficult, so that’s what we did for Michelle.

Michelle passed her assessment and we put steps in place for her to complete some of the paperwork after the assessment to reduce any stress or overwhelm – it really is up to you how you want to complete the course!

What people worry about is whether they will be able to do everything in the allocated time frame and the answer is YES you will!

Here’s why:

✅ The sooner you register the sooner you get access to all your learning materials so even if the practical days are 6 months or a year away – you can start doing some of the worksheets that need to be completed and studying for your exam so that by the time you arrive to your practical days – much of the work is done!

✅ We are flexible and work around your challenges and your schedule.  Yes it’s ideal for everyone to finish together so we can all celebrate, but sometimes people need some more time to complete the paperwork and you do actually have 2 years, although none of our students have needed to use the full 2 years.  All of our students have always finished long before 🙂

✅  We give you time during the practical days to complete paperwork and you also get personal time with Paul and I so that you know exactly what to do when you leave.

✅  If You don’t pass your theory exam, it’s no biggy, YOU choose when you want to resit it and there’s no extra cost!  Of course it’d be awesome if you passed the first time and we could tick that box, but if you’re like me and get all stressed and sweaty armpits and have a brain freeze on the day – you can sit your theory again and again and again.

✅  You can email me at any time to check all your paperwork and to keep you on track.

✅  No one “feels left behind” as each person is completing the course in the way that suits them – rather than being rushed through bits.     As long as you attend the allocated practical days, the rest we can work around 🙂

As long as all the elements are signed off, there is no fixed schedule as to how YOU need to complete the course.

At the moment Michelle has finished most of the elements including her exam and her assessment and she’s working through the last pieces in her own time and we’ve set a goal for it to be completed before Christmas so that she will be ready to start her new classes in January!

Life doesn’t happen in this way and people like – Michelle – and you –  wouldn’t be able to accomplish these things if our courses were run so strictly.

And that would be a shame for 2 reasons 1) you wouldn’t get to do something so awesome for yourself and follow your passion and 2) you wouldn’t get to to do this for your family and free up more of your time 💘

If you have young children, do this for them so that You can be at all their events and you can take as much time off as you want during holidays and you can be there for them in the afternoons when they get home from school.

Doing your Pilates and Yoga teacher training is a very small time commitment in the grand scheme of things, when you actually consider the amount of time and freedom you can have, once you’re qualified!

We have a Pilates & Yoga teacher training course starting in September 2022 so if you are interested get in touch with us and we’ll have a chat and you’ll be able to then decide if now is the right time for you 🙂

Lots of love
